 OilEraser Concrete Stain Fix FAQs

  • OilEraser is a two-component mix that contains a surfactant to break down the oil stain and a liquid absorbent to draw the oil out from the pores of the concrete. As OilEraser dries, it draws out the contamination causing the stain. Once it is dry, you can easily brush it away.

  • Dry times vary based on temperature and humidity. Typical dry times are 8 hours outside and up to 48 hours in interior spaces or cold weather environments.

  • No, the concrete must be dry prior to application. If it rains while OilEraser is drying, reapplication will be necessary.

  • Yes, OilEraser is environmentally friendly. It does not contain bleach, acid or other potentially hazardous materials.

  • Yes, OilEraser will work the same on all oils. Performance is more dependent on the surface and other factors such as dyes or additives, than the type of oil that has stained the surface.

  • In some instances, the oil stain may not fully lift or may reappear after removal. This most commonly occurs when the oil stain is located over a crack. Over time, that oil seeps deep into the cracked concrete and after the stain is removed using OilEraser, oil may seep up from the crack, seemingly making the oil stain reappear.

If the oil stain remains due to cracked concrete, simply apply more product and repeat the removal process until the oil is fully removed. The oil stain may also remain if there was precipitation during the removal process. If this occurs, simply repeat the removal process until the oil is fully removed. In other instances, the stain may not be removed after application. This most commonly occurs when the material on the ground is not oil.

OilEraser is not designed to remove other substances like grease, battery fluid or some other automotive fluids. OilEraser will only work on oil-stained concrete.

  • Yes, it will work on asphalt. Since asphalt is petroleum based, removing the stain with OilEraser will make that area lighter than any untreated areas, but it will fade with time.
